To Much Makeup, Part 1

I am officially beginning the post and shame challenge, i have taken all the pictures so that i can show you the embarrassment that is the makeup i own.  I am ashamed to say that i have let it get to this point, when i will clearly have no need for this much makeup in my entire life time.  So now you can see the shamefulness that is my eyeshadow collection.  There are a total of 83 eye shadows (one is not pictured) so i really do want to use up at minimum 1/4th of these.

By not purchasing any eye shadows until i use up 5 items in each of the 4 categories that i am aiming to use up products in I am hoping that i will use up a large majority of the items i already own.  Part of this challenge is also that i am going to be forced to use colors that are outside of my comfort zone.

Typically i use neutral colors on a normal basis, however i would prefer to use up the “odd” colors first.  Since i do not normally use them i will not have to worry about repurchasing them, while realistically i will most likely not use up enough of my eye shadows that i would completely run out of my neutral eye shadows.  It is just that the whole point of this process is to use up items that i already have in large numbers, and in doing so save money.  So if by some miracle i did use up all those neutral eye shadows i would just have to purchase one or two new ones, where i have no need to replace a blue or yellow eyeshadow.

For me this will require a large amount of will power.  Most of what i spend my money on in the past has been make up.  This is ironic enough since i

do not typically wear all that much makeup.  As of recently i have been wearing more but this is in an attempt to use my cosmetics up rather than out of any natural change in my habits.  Hopefully this will be easier than i am imagining and i will be able to use up a large proportion of my products.
